TF AMD Penang is committed to preserve the environment in the course of assembling and testing semiconductor products and controlling the use of resources in manufacturing and related activities. This is also in line with Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) requirement. TF AMD Penang is an ISO14001 certified company, our environmental management system helps maintain a safe and healthy environment for our employees, while ensuring our commitment to environmental responsibility. To achieve these goals, our environmental management programs comply with relevant environmental legislation rules and regulations prescribed by our country in which we do our business.
TF AMD Penang Environmental Goal
We are committed to reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 25% by 2030, targeting 53,621 tCO₂e with 2025 as the baseline year. This is aligned with SBTi (Science Based Target initiative). In addition, we are setting a Scope 3 Category 1 (Purchased Goods and Services) reduction target to address emissions across our value chain.
Key actions supporting these goals include:
- Green Electricity Tariff (GET): We have subscribed to GET, sourcing renewable electricity to reduce our Scope 2 emissions, effective from 4 September 2025.
- Solar Energy: Our on-site solar PV system, implemented in October 2022, continues to offset grid electricity and reduce emissions.
- Engaging Suppliers to Drive Scope 3 Emissions Reductions：In line with GHG Protocol guidance, we analyzed our supplier sustainability survey and spend data to identify suppliers with the highest potential impact on Scope 3 (Purchased Goods and Services) emissions.
- We are encouraged that 80% of our top-spend suppliers already have robust GHG reduction plans, including:
- Short- to mid-term reduction targets of 20–50% by 2030
- Initiatives specifically addressing Scope 3 emissions
- Commitments aligned with Net Zero 2050 pathways
By collaborating with these suppliers, we are driving measurable progress across our value chain and supporting our broader goal of reducing indirect emissions while fostering sustainable supply chain practices.
