The curtains rose on 7 July for the much-anticipated TF AMD 2025 Annual Dinner – Red & Black Night and what a grand opening it was! Themed in bold Red and Black, the event marked the first of a three-night celebration to honour our people, our progress and our collective achievements — with over 3,000 employees joining across all nights.

Held at the vibrant Setia Spice Arena, the evening brought together employees, leaders, and esteemed guests from around the world, including VIPs from TFME China and AMD. Though unable to attend in person, Honorary Chairman Shi Ming Da and Chairman Bill Shi delivered virtual speeches, highlighting the strong Penang–Suzhou-Headquarter collaboration, sixfold growth since the joint venture, and the upcoming advanced Bumping and EFB lines at Batu Kawan. They expressed deep appreciation to all teams and reinforced the “One Team, One Dream” spirit and TF-AMD’s future core missions of efficiency, innovation through diversity and cost competitiveness.

The program opened with a beautiful cultural dance by the Spring Dance Team, celebrating the diverse nationalities within TF AMD — including Malaysia, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Myanmar and Korea — followed by a thunderous Red Drum performance that set the tone for the electrifying night ahead.

The stage then lit up with a series of vibrant performances that truly showcased the talent and creativity within the TF AMD family. A crowd favourite, the K-pop-inspired dance “APT X Jennie” by Seventh Sense, delivered high-energy choreography and charisma, winning Best Performance of the Night. The laughter was non-stop for the sketch “Mission X to Be Healthy” by Overdosed Team, which secured Second Prize with its fun yet meaningful message. Closing the winners’ circle was the unifying and energetic “United Dance” by The Magical Pioneers, earning Third Prize for its choreography and team spirit.

One of the night’s most talked-about moments was the duet by Corporate VP of Operations, Mr. Kwee Swee Lian and Mr. CP Chang, an honourable guest from AMD, in a light-hearted brotherhood performance. As an added surprise, Mr. Kwee also joined Mr. KS Ong on stage for a soulful Hokkien duet, bringing warmth and nostalgia to the room. AMD’s very own Ms. Carrie Xu and Ms. Michelle Wang delivered a stirring duet of “I Believe,” captivating the audience with their vocals and stage presence.

Emcees Carolyn Lee and George Koh kept the momentum alive throughout the night with humour, charisma and flawless hosting — perfectly complementing the evening’s energy and emotion. Guests indulged in a curated course dinner, appreciated for its variety and flavour. The night continued with a highly anticipated lucky draw, featuring over 300 prizes — including a grand prize Ogawa Massage Chair, iPhone 16 Pro, Sony 65” 4K TV, Apple Watch S10 and a PS5 Disc Console (Slim). The grand draw, conducted by SL Kwee, was met with cheers and celebration across the floor.

The Service Award ceremony was another heartfelt highlight, honouring long-serving employees for their contributions over 10, 15 and 40 years. It was a reminder of the strength of our foundation and the people who helped build it.

Closing the evening in style, the Best Dressed competition saw employees turning heads in their most creative red and black outfits. On the night of 7 July, a tie was declared in both the male and female categories for Best Dressed, determined by the loudest cheers from the audience — proving that style runs deep across TF AMD.

During his address, Mr. Kwee Swee Lian reminded all, how far TF AMD Penang has come in its journey, evolving into a world-class strategic base. He emphasized the powerful synergy between Penang and Suzhou, rooted not in replication, but in collaboration — a partnership that’s unlocking new heights in innovation and global integration.

“By 2026, as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our joint venture, I want us to stand together in pride — showing the world that here in Malaysia, we too can create world-class miracles.” – SL Kwee, Corporate VP of Operations

TF AMD 2025 Annual Dinner – Red & Black Night continues to be more than just a celebration — it is a powerful reflection of our unity, strength and shared vision for the future, leaving a lasting impression on all who attend.
